The NCSD Annual Conference highlights promising student development research and practices at community and technical colleges. This year’s conference theme: The New Normal: Student Affairs’ Role in Guided Pathways, reflects a national movement in higher education toward increased efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability. Proposals have a student development/student affairs focus, and topics may include, but are not limited to the following:

This year’s networking reception and conference will be hosted at Cuyahoga Community College, Eastern Campus.

Founded in 1971, the Eastern Campus has a rich tradition of serving students who want to complete their first two years of College in a high quality educational environment, as well as those desiring a direct-to-job educational experience leading to a family-sustaining wage.

The Eastern Campus features the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science for students wishing to transfer to a four-year institution. The Campus has several strong articulations with more than 40 four-year partners, including on-site bachelor’s degree classes with Hiram College.

The campus, located off I-271 in Highland Hills, encompasses four buildings with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. The Eastern Campus is also home to the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Humanities Center, which provides high performing student a collaborative, problem-based learning environment with a focus on leadership development and community engagement. Additionally, the campus features multiple venues for events, such as the 600-seat Simon and Rose Mandel Theatre, Gallery East art gallery and Cafe’ 4250, a student-run restaurant. Students and community members can enjoy a healthy lifestyle with a gymnasium, indoor and outdoor tracks, natatorium, dance studio, fitness center and massage therapy student clinic.
